I entered this world with the Autumn of 1943 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. I was the second child; the first died before I was born. My brother arrived the Summer of 1947 and a fourth baby was lost early in the Summer of 1950.

I spent the first thirteen years of my life at various addresses in Bridgport before Dad decided he wanted to move the family to the country... where I thought I would surely die from boredom! Then Dad decides we weren't far enough away from our neighbors and wanted to haul us all off to Alaska and try his (read "our" -he'd be working driving long-distance hauls) hand at homesteading! Fortunately, Mom put her foot down and we never followed that adventure.
It wasn't until years later, after I'd spent a few years experiencing city life, that I began to wish I was in the country. It was a long, convoluted journey of a quarter century before my road finally, and gratefully, led me back to the woods.
I've been living in Thisildo Realm for over nineteen years and as much as I grumble about the "miserable terrain", I dearly love this little patch of wooded ravine. I've discovered serenity in The Realm. And I can appreciate what my Dad felt about neighbors being too close ~~ although I'm not looking to try homesteading in Alaska!
The Realm is shared with two pampered fur kids, five equally pampered purrbies, and one delightful guy I had the good fortune to meet online 20 June 2004. I love spending time in Realm Woods with the fur kids and have blazed hiking/walking trails through the woods and along the creek.

Other Quirks
I prefer the forest over the ocean, creeks and streams over rivers, outdoors over indoors, Winter over Summer, Pepsi over Coke, Sidney Toler over Warner Olin as Charlie Chan, The Beatles over Metallica, Beethoven over The Beatles and chocolate over anything!
I'm a wannabe National Geographic-type photographer. I've always got my camera and at least one spare roll of film handy for catching Kodak Moments.
And, I don't know nearly as much about my computer as I would like to! That was made painfully clear to me when our previous site host decided to pull the plug! But... (grin) it worked out... just like it always does -even if the result isn't exactly what I thought it would be, and Thisildo!
 Shhh... Don't let the purrbies
know about Myra!
