Welcome to Foster Village 2001
Power of a Puppy
He seems to understand, when no one else has a clue,
And yet he never tries to tell me what to do.
He knows just when to sit and do his loyal part,
Into his sad little eyes, I pour out my heart.
I know it may sound silly to quite a few of you,
But my dear little puppy knows just what to do.
He whines and he whimpers, then he licks my sad face,
And all of a sudden, the world is not so bad a place.
So when you need a hand up and know not what to do,
See what the Power of a Puppy can do for you.

Summer 2001 Fostering Adventure
Without a doubt, this has been "the best summer of my life"! Surrounded by puppies and dogs visiting while they waited for their forever homes... absolutely wonderful! I went into this fostering with the firm concept that these were not "my" critters, I was only baby-sitting until their moms and dads found them. In spite of all my resolve and best intentions, I (of course) fell in love with every one of them. How could anyone not fall in love with these precious creatures?!
Ben and Fred... oh my, Ben is a black Cocker/Terrier mix with a touch of Chow and just a bundle of energy and fun. Fred :::Sigh::: Fred, a black Lab mix is absolutely the most loving dog I've ever seen! He gives up a pig ear for a hug! Don't have nearly enough pictures of Fred :o( --spent too much time loving on him! ;o)
Lady was the oldest puppy I fostered, seven months. A blonde Cocker/Terrier mix so full of herself! She was my first indoor foster and wooodoggie! What an adventure she was! I wasn't at all sure about this indoor stuff with six critters already in residence, but she got along famously with Buffy and Billie and did her best to terrorize the purrbies! It was so neat to have her curl up in my lap (with her ends hanging over the sides!) and take a nap.
The Spudster. Gosh! What an incredibly terrific dog! Spud is a Rat Terrier weighing in at all of twelve and a half pounds! His markings are called "Cow" because of the markings and he really does look like he's in "cowhide"!
LOL Definitely the smallest dog I've ever had! He came to me at 16 months old and quickly stole my heart. The Spudster was able to turn around three times and curl up in my lap with nothing hanging over the sides! :D
There were thirteen homeless dogs and puppies spending between four and eighty-seven days at The Realm this Summer. A lot of them were adopted very quickly -before I even got to know them enough to give them a name or get a picture of them! Memories and photographs of them never fail to bring a huge smile to my face and a warm-fuzzy feeling to my heart.
If you have adopted one of these puppers, you are more than welcome to take any pictures of them for your album.
