Until today, I have been able to say "I've never had a black eye."
Until today. LOL
And here's what happened...
Yesterday evening I brought the girls inside and gave them pig ears. The girls came into the living room to devour their treats and I washed my hands.
Walking casually back to my computer, drying my hands... the next thing I know my ankle twists on Billie's pig ear. I cannot believe how fast I went down! For some reason my hands just didn't work right to break my fall and my head slams into the floor with a sound I truly hope to never hear again. Larry, bless his heart, is not real good with crisis situations (if y'all remember the Great Bee Adventure where he's running in circles instead of "away"! hee hee hee) and runs to my side with "OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG!"
I'm on the floor with my face in the carpet, my hand over my right eye absolutely believing I broke my eye and feeling this lump grow on my eyebrow. I ask Larry to get some ice and I work on seeing what hurts if I move. I remember my right knee hitting the floor and "maybe" my right elbow, but I can't really be sure 'cause my freakin' head is screaming at me!
Well, I didn't break my eye, but whooo doggie, I whacked my eyebrow something fierce! I had fun trying to get up! Couldn't get on my knees, 'cause I whacked them on my way down and I didn't want Larry to pull me up - Lord knows what damage I've done and I needed to go slow and feel out the injuries, y'know? And with one hand holding the ice pack, it was a sight to see for sure! LOL
Two hours and two ice packs later I have no eyelid!
By bedtime there was no visible bruising and I was pissed! Man! For that much pain, I need a Trophy! Well, I woke up this morning and I have a Trophy! LOL
And a wicked knot! I can still wear my glasses, but just barely. *sigh* Larry tells me (speaking from personal experience?) that it will get nastier tomorrow!
And it appears that Larry was right! LOL It just keeps getting better and better! :D
What's really amazing to me is that there is no bruise at the point of impact - on my eyebrow! Can't wait to see what it looks like tomorrow! LMAO!!!!
