Spud, a 16 month old Rat Terrier, arrived
04 September 2001.
Spud was both my first encounter with a really small dog -ever, and he was the first actual "dog" I'd fostered (all the others were puppers). Little Spud only weighed in at twelve and a half pounds. Light enough for me to carry in one hand ... er, that is, if The Spudster wanted to be carried! Which was not very often! <g>
When he didn't want to be carried, he could squirm like a little piglet until you gave it up for fear of dropping him!
The Spudster loves to be close to his humans --on their lap, or underfoot, it doesn't matter to him! He's real big on giving kisses, too! LOL
He loves to play and sniff around in the yard, but only if you're with him. I let him out in the yard for some play time and by the time I got to the kitchen window, there was The Spudster. Jumping up to look in the kitchen window to see if I saw he was still outside! It was a riot! All I could see was these two huge ears and dark eyes
bobbing up and down in the window! Lots of giggling! :D You wouldn't think something this small could jump that high!
The Girls and I could always count on Spud to meet us at the fence when we came back from our walk in Realm Woods!
He loved being out in the yard, but loved it better if his human was with him.

YAY!
The Spudster was adopted into his Forever Home
06 October 2001.
He now has a mom and dad, two young girls, and two female Yorkies to play with in a fenced-in yard, complete with a Doggie Door!
Spud confirmed my belief that I always wanted a small dog in my world. I'm delighted that he was adopted into a loving family, he's a pretty special little dude and truly deserves a happy life.
